About

Jenny is married with two adult children and two grandchildren. She was a teacher for twenty years before feeling called to expand her professional direction into Counselling. Jenny completed her Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling in 2008 and then her Masters in Counselling in 2011. She gained clinical registration with the Christian Counsellors Association of Australia and PACFA in 2010 and became a registered supervisor with both organisations in 2014.

Since working in the field Jenny worked for two years as the Parent Advocate and Support person at an outpatient eating disorders clinic (previously known as The Bronte Foundation) and as the Service Coordinator of City Care Counselling Centre for four years, both in Brisbane. Additionally she has worked ongoing as a sessional lecturer at Christian Heritage College (CHC) since 2012 (teaching foundational and advanced interpersonal counselling skills).

Jenny now works permanent part time at CHC as the Supervisor of Counselling Services, overseeing the day to day operations of the CHC Counselling and Support Centre where CHC final year Bachelor and Masters counselling students, complete practicum hours. This centre offers free counselling to CHC students and low-cost counselling to members of the public. She provides group supervision and mentorship to all counselling students completing their practicum units.

Concurrently Jenny has run a private practice over the last 12 years. She works across a wide range of counselling issues but has a special interest in Anxiety and Eating Disorders. This interest was sparked by walking a painful journey with a family member over a number of years and through her subsequent involvement with The Bronte Foundation. She is passionate about helping people of all ages to move forward towards wholeness, breaking free from the things that keep them ‘captive’ and helping them embrace their potential and purpose. Jenny's counselling experience is mostly with individuals but also couple and family work. She provides supervision on a regular basis to both student and fully qualified counsellors.

Jenny has completed the specialised eating disorder training through ACFED (Gold Level) and other Eating Disorder conferences to back up the lived experienced she went through as well as considerable experience journeying closely with sufferers and their families.
