Rachel has over 10 years experience providing psychological support to adults for a range of conditions including depression, anxiety, stress, anger, grief, and relationship problems. Over this time she has developed a special interest in working with clients with eating disorders and weight concerns (both in surgical and non-surgical settings). Rachel has personal and professional experience with obesity and bariatric surgery, and specialises in providing support to bariatric patients, both pre- and post-surgery, to maximise the chances of long term success.
Rachel uses evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which have been scientifically proven to help people with a range of mental health conditions. Furthermore, Rachel has obtained extensive training in the treatment of eating disorders through the Australian Centre for Eating Disorders and continues to expand her knowledge in this area. She prides herself on providing a supportive and empathetic therapeutic environment to help clients develop skills to deal with their struggles and embrace the life they want to live.
